This exceptional wood-framed slide illustrates the historic Siege of Vicksburg. The hand-colored detailing brilliantly portrays Union soldiers taking cover behind elaborate sandbag earthworks while active artillery lines shell the distant hillside fortifications. Distinctively marked with a vintage hand-written "Civil War Vicksburg" inscription on the face and carrying fragments of its original printed series label on the edge, this item stands as an elite piece of 19th-century visual media documenting a vital milestone in American history.
